More than 50 participants gathered in Jakarta on Monday, 3 February 2025, for the launch of the annual Leadership Meeting of the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD). Meetings were also held with Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Professor Nasaruddin Umar, and Professor Kamaruddin Amin, Secretary General of MoRA.

Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of a strong commitment to eliminating gratuity practices within the Ministry of Religious Affairs that could harm the state and society. He called on all members of the Ministry to uphold the principles of honesty, efficiency, and the principle of public benefit in every policy decision made.

Director of Islamic Religious Information (Penais) at the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance, Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ahmad Zayadi, stated that majelis taklim is not only a major movement to strengthen synergy in the implementation of religious moderation. Beyond that, Zayadi also encouraged majelis taklim to expand their programs to include social initiatives and the economic empowerment of the Muslim community.

This event was held in conjunction with the Socialization of the National Christmas Implementation as well as a Joint Prayer and Worship Service in Preparation for the National Christmas. It was attended by the Minister of Communication and Information, who also serves as the Chairperson of the National Christmas Committee, Budi Arie Setiadi (virtually); the Director General of Christian Community Guidance, Jeane Marie Tulung; the Director of Christian Religious Affairs, Amsal Yowei; the Director of Christian Education, Sudirman Simanihuruk; and the Rectors of State Christian Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKKN). The event was also joined by representatives from both the Central and Local Committees of the National Christmas.
